I remember well playing Provincial Midget play-d0wns in Saskatchewan as a teenager, and coming out on top of a hard-fought series against a team we had long-hated but who had also previously owned us. It follows an emotional game against the Devils (for obvious reasons) in which extra time was required to determine a winner, leaving its combatants even more weary than would be normal. An awkward routing to get from Newark to Kanata (now there’s a trip you wouldn’t make every day) adds further fatigue. Not only is it the second of back-to-back games on the road, always a tough spot.
